Nonfiction Writing for the Media Classes at Coconino Community College – CCL

For some, sitting down in front a blank computer screen can be an intimidating experience.

  • Where do I start?
  • What do I want to write about?
  • Do I just want to rant or should I do some research?
  • How should I tell my story — a blog, a podcast, a video post, a photo gallery?

Yes, telling your story can be overwhelming. But it doesn’t have to be if you take it step by step.

Learn how in a four-part series on “Nonfiction Writing for the Media.” See the flyer below for details on the sessions. Each session will build on the previous sessions but can also be taken individually.

“Marketing is More Than Just PR” set for Aug. 18

Flagstaff Communicators is starting its new season with a hands-on session highlighting the differences and connections between marketing and public relations. You will leave the meeting with the tools to review your product(s) ~ whether they are personal or business-related ~ and promote them in the best ways possible.
The session will be presented by Star Hunter, founder and creative director of Shooting Star Communications LLC. Ms. Hunter has a master’s degree in mass communication with a print journalism emphasis. She has been a multimedia marketing and public relations professional for 12 years and teaches journalism and public relations at the community college level.
Consider bringing a team of people from your business or organization to the session, to work together in the hands-on review of your product, your customer, your message and your options for publicity.
Cost for this evening meeting of Flagstaff Communicators is $15 for members, $18 for guests, $10 for students. The session will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the City of Flagstaff Aquaplex, 1702 N.
